New guy questions?

Postby donkism101 » Tue Mar 04, 2008 5:34 pm

i looked for this topic and didnt see one like it. ive read alot of the start up stuff and some forum post, but id like to hear str8 from some people on thier opinions. as a new guy coming into the technology world i am now a pt3 owner. where do i start? what am i looking for? this may sound dumb, but i know alot of u guys are getting experienced with this. so many little things to look at and what do they mean?

i know the more i play with it the more comfortable i will be. basically what i want to know is what do u guys keep your eyes on and what stats are most important? do i have to have pokerace to get the hud stats on the game? i feel like pulling my hair out at the present time. but i have pt3 up and running and hands are logging as i type.

ive been playing cards for alot of years, though i just now started saving card history. is there a way to go back and get past history so i can do a long term analyze?

seeing some other post people have stats on the games at tilt. can i do this with pt3 or do i have to add pokerace? thanks for taking time to read this and thanks for any responses. good luck me!

If you've been playing on PokerStars, you can email them and have them send you your entire history of play, although it takes them a day or two. Other sites, you will need to have saved the hand histories yourself.

To get the stats on the table, you will need to await the new version of PokerAce (a couple of weeks IIRC) as the current version supports only PT2, not 3 yet. You can try AHK-HUD if you like in the meantime.

To learn what all the stats mean, check out the documentation on this site (Home -> Documentation) - lots of useful information in there :)
