vp$ip problem

Postby frogster » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:15 pm

I'm a new user of poker tracker. The definition of VP$IP seems straightforward, but there's a contradiction I don't understand. (This question regards small stakes cash game hands imported from Full Tilt.) When I check the "known starting hands summary" the VP$IP isn't consistent for play from the blinds. For example, sometimes it will show a player winning a big hand with a VP$IP of 0 percent; other times a big hand will show a 100 percent VP$IP. It seems obvious it should be 100 percent in both cases. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're in the big blind and there is no raise to you, by checking you don't VOLUNTARILY put $ in the pot (preflop).

These players did put money in the pot; the pots were large.

The pots could be large (built post-flop); however, if they did not put any further money in the pot other than their big blind pre-flop then this is not considered as VP$IP.
