'Blind steals' filter question

Postby WhiteRider » Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:52 am

I've just been investigating the blind steal stats and filters.
So far it looks like the blind steals are being reported correctly in the latest version, but I've got a query about the filters.

'Chance to steal _Raised' and 'Steal attempted' are filtering to the same hands when I set them both to 'true', which is logical, so I thought I'd see what was returned when I set them to false (separately).

'Steal attempted:false' returns every hand that 'true' didn't return - which I assume is correct. i.e. Every hand where I didn't attempt a steal.

However, 'Chance to steal _Raised : false' seems to return a strange set of hands.
I'd expect this to return hands where I had a chance to steal, but didn't. But some of the hands aren't steal opportunities at all.

Testing all combinations of chance to steal filters gives the following results:
Chance to steal _Raised : true = 7 hands; false = 58 hands
Chance to steal _Called : true = 0 hands; false = 65 hands
Chance to steal _Folded : true = 56 hands; false = 9 hands

So they all total to 65 hands, but since I never called when I had chance to steal, I'd expect..
Chance to steal _Raised : true = Chance to steal _Folded : false
..but it doesn't (7 vs 9).

I've identified the 2 hands which give the above difference and they are not steal opportunities, so I will create a support ticket.
Both are hands where there is an EP raise and I reraise from a steal position.
