PT2 Export Format on Linux Advice

I have my HH db from my old PT2 database that I was gonna try and export them to import into PT3. I'm one of the Linux users so, unfortunately, I can't use the export utility.

I was wondering what the best format would be to export these.

Will PT3 recognize different hands from different sites if all the HH's are in 1 file?

Would it be better to export each hand into it's own separate file? I thought the file reads would make this take a bit longer and that's probably ok.

I haven't looked at the structure of how to build them by session, but I could also export each hand from each site quite easily. Some of theses hands are from ongame, so they wouldn't be importable yet anyway.

Just simple suggestions is fine, I'm not looking for detailed instructions or anything.

No, you need to keep all the hands in the file from a single site.

Because of all the file opening/closing, this will make for a slower import into PT3.


PT3 can handle enormous file sizes, so if you want, you can put all the hands for each site in their own file and PT3 can import the files.

What kind of errors did PT3 give you?

No errors, just says no hands imported.

No, no blank lines necessary. What is the exact output of the import status?

It's blank. There isn't anything in the status. I did stop it after a few seconds this time, but earlier I ran it all the way through the file but don't recall anything in the status then either. It's 90k hands, so it takes a bit of time to run through it.

Open the PokerTracker.log file and see if there are any messages of interest in there.
