Advanced Filtering/Reports Question

Postby gamingmouse » Tue Nov 25, 2008 5:41 pm

I have created custom stats before, but I want to do something now that I can't even figure out how to start.

I want to look at only hands in which:

1. It is folded to the button
2. The button shoves all in
3. The button's stack size is between 10BB and 20BB

Note: these are not hands that I or any other specific player played. I am just interested in any hands that meet these criteria.

The first, simple part of the task, is simply to view all hands that meet these criteria in the Hands tab (or anywhere else where I can browse thru the hands and replay them or look at the hand histories).

If someone can help me with this part, I may be able to figure out the rest on my own, so I'll hold off on asking that.

Thanks!

Jonah,

I think you'll need to do this as a custom stat first then do a custom report filtering for hands where this is true.

For any given player, your three conditions are true when:
(1) The button has a steal opportunity (flg_p_steal_opp)
(2) The button raises all-in on their first raise: (enum_p_allin = 'P', flg_p_3bet = false, flg_p_4bet = false)
and
(3) The button has the stack betweeen 10BB and 20BB (amt_before > 10 * holdem_limit.amt_bb and amt_before < 20 * holdem_limit.amt_bb).

The flags from (1) and (2) are in holdem_cash_player_statistics; for #3 it's in holdem_hand_player_detail.

Once you've build the stat, create a custom report for the hands where that stat is true. You'll want the stat to actually be in the Holdem Cash Hands area in order for your report to work right, I think.

Good luck!

kraada,

Thanks for the reply.

I must be missing something. I have chosen the "Statistics" tab under "Configure Statistics". In the value expression I have entered (just to start):

holdem_cash_player_statistics.flg_p_steal_opp = true

If I click validate it says it is NOT a valid expression. I have tried changing "true" to "1", and I have tried both of these combinations with both the "Holdem Cash Hand" and the "Holdem Cash Player Statistics" section selected under the "Sections" tab.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Jonah

You need to enter that expression in the Column tab's Expression, and then build your stat from the column.

Have a look at the Custom Statistics and Reports FAQ for some explanations/walkthroughs.

Thanks WhiteRider, I got it working... now I have even more questions.

First, my custom stat won't appear in my report:

Why is the stat "Short Stacked" missing? Also notice that circled portion -- this seems to be a bug totally unrelated to my question but I figured I'd point it out. Tabs are drawn in place of column headers on many screens in PT3.

My next question is the more important one. What I really want to do is use custom stats for filtering, as if the custom stat was on the built-in filter. That is, I want my "report" to be the ordinary "Hands" tab, but I want to filter by some custom stat. It appears that to do this I would have manually recreate all the "Hands" columns in my own report any time I want to do this, which is repetitive and inefficient. What's more -- it's not even possible to do this completely, because of the Section groupings required for reports: Holdem Cash Hand, Holdem Cash Player Stats, etc. So if I want to get a Cash Player stat like BB/100 but use a Cash Hand filter like the "Short Stacked" one above, I can't do that. Am I missing something? How can I simply extend the built-in filter functionality with my own stats?

You most likely forgot to add a title and width on the format tab of your stat; that'll cause the column not to appear.

Unfortunately there's no way for you to extend the filters the way they are now, but stack size filters are on my list and should be available for an upcoming release.

Okay, and was I correct in assuming that you cannot mix stats from the different sections in your custom reports?

Thanks,

Check the Format tab - make sure you have a Title and Width set or the column won't display.

I can't quite make out the image properly, but please create a support ticket about it, and attach a clearer image.

No, you're right - if you want to filter on a Custom Stat then you need to create a Custom Report.
I'm not quite sure what you mean here: "So if I want to get a Cash Player stat like BB/100 but use a Cash Hand filter like the "Short Stacked""? You can't use BB/100 or whatever in a report showing individual hands, it doesn't make sense.
