Data mining

Knew to this poker tracker stuff so bear with me. How do I data mine on party poker? I open tables and start to auto import with the 'observed hands' button checked but this doesn't seem to be updating the stats I already have on the players. Even when im sitting at a table but not being dealt in, the stats don't update. Am I doing something wrong or does Party not alllow this?

Party does not write hand histories for observed tables.
You'll need to use some 3rd party software, such as FreePHG (sorry, you'll have to google it - I don't have the link to hand and I've got to rush out now).
