Aborting Update of Database Cache

Postby TheZepper » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:27 am

Is there any way to abort or interrupt the automatic update of DB cache once its started? Whenever I switch sites, the program automatically starts the update using all the wrong databases. Right now, I'm sitting here waiting (before I can start to play) for what will be about 1 1/2 hours for an update to the cache I don't want. I'd like to get into preferences first to reset the DB's to the site I' want to play NOW - not to update the cache for the site I just finished playing.

Personally, I turn off the automatic updates of the cache, and do it manually at the end of the day.
You can end the PAH process using Task Manager / Processes, and then disable cache updates by editting the file:
c:\program files\pokerace hud\data\config\pahud.cfg
Find the line that says:
CacheAutoUpdate=
and make sure it says N.
Since your cache won't be built, you could also set
UseCache=N

Play your session, then re-enable the cache when you've finished playing and let it build overnight or something.
