BAAAAAAAAD Flickering

Postby GaryRoof » Fri May 02, 2008 2:45 pm

I'm running version "Beta Release v1.19.6"
OS is MS XP w all service packs installed
Flicker free drawing is constantly enabled
Play is at Poker Stars

Flickering is constant but grows worse about 10 minutes after I start play, typically at two or three SnG tournament tables. After 10 minutes it gets so bad as to make PAH virtually unusable. Stats will flicker or disappear or be fragmented and unreadable for some but, frequently, not all of the players. They will be unreadable for up to 30-45 seconds. Frequently, stats will get worse for the player as soon as his image starts flashing (his turn to play). It's a real pain, later in the tourney, if I'm trying to decide whether to bet, raise or fold against one or two opponents and have to wait an eternity to see what their stats are. Oftimes, I have to make the play without stats and THAT'S SCAREY.

I've read your tutorial on similar problems and have all the caches, etc. enabled as you propose in the tutorial although your instructions on where to store "old hands" is somewhat unclear. Mine are stored in a subdirectory of the Poker Stars app. If memory serves, This problem seems to have worsened after I installed the SQL database in PT, about 10 weeks ago but I'm not sure about that. Current database is just over 1.1 GB.

Soon as I post this, I'm sending you an E-mail with a file attachment of a log I ran, yesterday, while playing two SnG's. Please help.

Thanks,
Gary Roof

This isn't a subdirectory of the hand history folder, or the folder you have PAH pointed to, is it?
If it is, maybe PAH is constantly busy re-reading the old HH files.
Just a thought, but I'd suggest storing your processed files somewhere completely separate from the pokerstars install.

Why scan history files? Don't you have all the data in PokerTracker3 database (assuming auto-import is on)? The problem gets worse over time. First stats show up fine (with almost empty history files), but after a couple of hours the stats are almost unusable since they are not there much :)

Sorry, my previous response was put there by mistake. Please ignore it. I was talking about PT3.
