Updating database cache

I seem to be having issues the the cache update. Right now I am sticking with PT2 and PAHUD since PT3 doesn't import my tournament stats properly. I still have PT3 and it's 1/2 missing database installed an I am hoping the issue will be addressed soon. ( See post http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6275 )

While I wait for that to happen (not too long I hope), every time I run PAHUD with PT2 open and PT3 NOT running, I get the updating cache window that goes on forever and never goes away. It very much slows down other programs and playing more than 1 table is impossible. PAHUD still does what it's supposed to do, displaying the stats, but the cache update is creating problems for me. I have to use Windows task Manager to end the program because it always says " wait for cache to finish before ending program". When it was still there after 10 hrs I suspected a problem. What action can I take to resolve this?

Hmm,
don't know if this is connected but is there a maximum size of hand data that can be imported via the Auto Import option?
I'm at 105k hands now and don't know how many more'll come. The import rate went down to about 1 hand per second, so it seems like it could go on forever.
Also the HUD info is way behind and incomplete on what is happening at the table.

Very strange. It was one of the nicest programs I have. Worked well, no problems. I'm not aware that I changed anything either. I am at a loss.

When you installed PT3 did you install postgres 8.3?
PAHud doesn't fully support 8.3 and the cache doesn't work with it.
If that's not it, I think you will need to remove the part built cash so it can be rebuilt completely. I *think* this is the .db files in the "data" folder of the PAH installation folder.

Is this PT3?
If you are doing a big import like that you should use manual import as that is much faster.

Always go with your gut. You're first response hit it on the head. I installed 8.3 when I got trail version of PT3. Thank you for your diagnosis. I knew you guys were good.

Unfortunately I now have 2 programs I love and cannot use.

OK, well I'm glad we worked that out. Unfortunately I can't give you a definitive answer as to whether you can roll back to 8.2, but I would expect that you can.
I guess you had PT2 set up with postgres 8.2, so you should be able to re-install 8.2 and get PT2/PAH to use it again.
Hopefully a postgres expert will help..

The only postgreSQL versionI have installed is 8.3 so that I could transfer from PT2 to PT3.

I would have to try and uninstall 8.3, then intall 8.2, then convert my PT2 db(made in 8.3) to postgreSQL 8.2 so that I can maintain the use PT 2 for now and then delete PAHUD cache so it can reload the cache so that it will work again with PT2 postgreSQL 8.2 only to covert PT2 postgreSQL 8.2 back to 8.3 at some later time when PT3 w/PAHUD are working properly.

Is this what I have to do to use the sofware?
