DATE PROBLEM

Postby richlizard » Sat Mar 15, 2008 8:19 am

I recently noticed that when trying to review hands from the previous day, I could not find certain hands that I was looking for.

After a bit of searching, I found the reason was that these hands were dated as 01/01/1900 !

Using this forum has helped me realise that this is obviously due to regional settings on my laptop (my database is networked for laptop/pc).

Well for the future this is fine as I have now changed the regional settings on my laptop accordingly. But is there any way these hands from the turn of the 20th century can be amended to read their correct date?

Thanks
Richard

What site are these hand histories from?
Do you still have the hand history files that were used to import them into PT originally?

They are from DTD Crypto.

The hands will have been moved to different folder after processing.

Find one of the game #'s in PT that has this bad date.
Then search the processed files folder for a file called [game_number].log

If you can find that file, open it and copy/paste the text of the file into a reply.

OK, what I would recommend it using the Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options window to purge all these sessions that have 1/1/1900 as the date.

Then, in PT, open the Crypto auto-import window, click the Hand History Folder Location button and add a pointer to the processed hand history folder.

Uncheck the "Move processed files..." box.

Then click Force Import and PT will try to reimport all the files in the processed folder. It will skip any that were already loaded and will get those that are not (i.e. the ones you purged with the wrong dates).

If there are a lot of files then it may take a while so let it run.

When it's done, click the Hand History Folder Location button again and remove the link to the processed files folder.
Check the "Move processed files..." box again.
