Re: New Pokerstars version

Pat everything was working for me then I took a few days off and when I came back today the Hand Histories are no longer being saved. When I talked to Poker Stars Support they asked me to change the folder that I was storing the Hand Histories in and see if they were being saved now. They are saving in the new file that I created now but Poker Traker is not looking for them there obviously. Is there a way for me to change where Poker Tracker looks for the hands or does it have to stay C:\Program Files\Poker Stars\Hand History......? I am not sure how to change the hand history file location in Poker Tracker. Thanks fin advance for the help.

Click the Hand History Folder Location button on the PokerStars auto-import window and tell it what the new folder is.

I am having this same problem..it is showing the hand history file to be empty. I get the message on Tracker that no hand history files since last import. Of course HUD does not work then as well. I double checked that it is still the same file on Stars and Tracker as it had always been. I also am running Vista and all programs as administrator. This only started after downloading an update from Stars today :(

Is Vista prompting you to cancel/allow PokerStars to run? It should be.
Have you checked the folder to see if there are any hand history files there? Have you made sure Stars is still setup to save the files and to save it to the folder you think it should be?
If all of these are true then you'll need to contact PokerStars support to see why they aren't saving the files anymore.

Thank you for your help.  I did contact Stars..with Vista software they no longer allow histories to be written directly to program files. They instead can be saved to my documents etc. Once changed in Stars, Tracker, and HUD It is working again now..thank you for your prompt response  :D

Why can not PS inform the players about these changes upfront, I have played a lot, and now dont have any HH....

The files should still be on the computer. If you go to the hand history folder and click on the Compatibility Files link/button you should see the files there. They are being written in the comp. files folder because PS wasn't running as admin. If you move these back to the "real" hand history folder, PT should load them.

Thanks for the tip. Pardon if this is a stupid Q but now that my HH's are saved elsewhere - is this like starting again - what of all the info I had. I guess it will be up to date from the last time I exported to Stars? What happens when I auto rate in future? Sorry, I am not very computer savvy - just like poker :D

Once the hands are imported into PT2 they are stored in the database so it doesn't matter which folder they originally came from - all your previously imported hands will be fine.
