avg. pot in summary tab

Postby gurravasa » Thu Aug 14, 2008 2:45 pm

I need to know how the "avg. pot" figure in the summary TAB is calculated. I asked this before and got the impression that it was calculated like "total pot in raked hands/raked hands", but when I look at Poker Stars 2/4 fixed limit hold'em games that only are raked if the pot is at least $20 it says that average potsize is $23.5. That figure should be higher since only hands with pots bigger than $20 is counted. Especially when 8 other sites that rake all hands with a flop has higher avg. pot figures ($24-$29 about 10K sample size for each site).

Just looking at the figures it seem like avg pot is calculated like "total pot in hand with flops/hand with flop"?

You are right, there has to be a flop for it to be included in the avg. pot calculation.

total pot in flop hands + total rake (no rake unless there is a flop) / hands with flop

Great. I'm making rake comparisons between various sites, that why I need to know how these figures are calculated in detail.

Thanks for your speedy reply!
