PT2 and 3 with postgre

I have PT3 with postgre 8.3.
I installed PT2 to use my old database backups from past years.
When I try to configure postgre in PT2, I see no entry in "ODBC enbtry to use" in the PostgreSQL setting.
Any idea how to use my current postgreSQL 8.3 with PT3 and PT2 at the same time ?
Must I install a second postgre ? I doubt that.
Don't worry to go into technical details, I'm an IT consultant.
