ptrack2.exe has stopped working

since i installed the latest patch i cant get PT to work. everytime i start the program and confirm the UAC dialog (using vista, 100 percent positive im running as administrator) i get the error message "ptrack2.exe has stopped working".

reinstalled the patch, installed the full version, but that doesnt help.

i can vaguely remember having had this same problem a few months ago after a patch, but solving it somehow. cant remember or find the solution anywhere on the web despite a lot of searching and trying.

do you have any ideas?
