UNISTALL PANIC

Postby blckchip » Wed Jul 23, 2008 6:26 pm

To solve problems w. getting knocked offline, I uninstalled several programs. Without consulting more knowledgeable people, I uninstalled what I thought were earlier versions of PT. I apparently have wiped out my entire PT program and data base. Is there any hope of recovery? I can't find any help on Micro XP.

Help pls!

Have you been backing up your database files?

If not, go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. What files there have the file extension of .MDB? What are their names, sizes and the date/times on them?

Sorry about the spacing. Everything was neatly stacked, but apparently scrambled when I sent it. If you wld like, I will re-do this if you can tell me how to preserve the format.

Yeah, it's hard to tell, specifically I am interested in the date/times and sizes on these files:

ptrack_backup.mdb
ptrack2.mdb
ptrack3.mdb
hhcopy.mdb

I am guessing you have not yet reinstalled PT2, is that correct?

Sorry for the delay in response, I am still learning to navigate the site and did not see your reply until this morning. I have not yet tried to download PT 2.

The files you noted are below:

ptrack_backup.mdb 7/19/2008 5:56 pm 1.47 GB
ptrack2.mdb 12/21/2007 6:22 pm 52.6 MB
ptrack3.mdb 12/21/2007 6:22 pm 7.25 MB
hhcopy.mdb 7/19/2008 6:16 pm 1.59 GB

Thanks!

OK, install PT2 again...
http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PTH/download.php

Then before you open PT, go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder delete the files called PTRACK.MDB and HHDB.MDB

Then RENAME the hhcopy.mdb file to hhdb.mdb and rename the ptrack_backup.mdb file to ptrack.mdb

Now start PT. Since those files were dated on July 21 that's pretty recent so you should see your data again.

If PT becomes unregistered for you, send me the new product ID from the Help/About Poker Tracker window using the online support system and I will send you a code...

Pat,

Thank you, I owe you big time. I am back up and running w. minimum damage. Except for the last 2-3 days of Ultimate Bet, I appear to have all my data intact.

Please feel free to use your rescue of me from my misadventure as an example of your excellent customer service!
