PT4 First Impressions

Postby T123 » Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:08 pm

So, i got a betacode for the 2nd beta batch of PT4 beta codes that was released and well chuffed that I did!! As I've been a long time PT3 fan... and literaly just dying to have a go on PT4.

1. Initially impressions are that I am very happy with HUD and the instant equity that is shown, as well as the autonotes that are being added plus the new marking hands system.
2. I do miss some of the flexibility that PT3 provided with the ability to add ad hoc stats when wanted, typically my positional stats would always be a custom view that I prefered. Instead of using the my reports feature for this.
3. The Community view tab is an interesting idea, but please for the love of god add in a forward and back button, also the ability to right click and open a in link in a new window would be useful. And also my text is underlined when spelt incorrectly but again I can't right click to correct it!
4. Currently my Ipoker skin isn't working on Win7 so I am on XP at the moment and the columns have been fine on XP. But on Win7 I've increased the text DPI - all the columns in PT4 were pretty skewed, I can post a screenshot but need to be on the PC to do so... Its nothing major but it would be nice for something like this not to happen as I imagine some ppl would find it tilting.

Jep,
the community is a nice thing, but forward and backward button as rightclick would be cool! :P

Regarding (2) can you explain a little further which section of PT3 you were looking in? The various groupings are all in PT4 so I'd be surprised if we couldn't find a way for you to see what you want without needing to use custom reports if you could do it in PT3.

ignore that!!! I've just found the right click function whereby I can now add/remove stats as and when I'd like to. bing.

Yep - this is even more tilting now. A few other comments around the community tab. I am beginning to like it and enjoying that it makes me post more in the forums. HOWEVER a few things must be sorted;
-Clicking images is a massive fail as your stuck on the image when it goes full screen within PT4 as no way to get out of this other then restarting it, mid sessions is just argh!!!
-Not being able to zoom in and out using CTRL+ALT+Scroll wheel is also a massive tit factor

I expect the browser functionality in the Community tab to be extended, although I don't know exactly what the plans are. I mentioned the issue with getting stuck once you view an image to the development team.
